The awards were sponsored by the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation which has granted almost two million dollars to the Council within the last five years. Council Chairman Jake Steinfeld of Anthem said “We’re proud to shine a spotlight on each of our awardees because they are doing something amazing to help The Centers for Disease Control recommends that children participate in one hour of physical fitness every day including aerobic activity, muscle strengthening and bone strengthening. The CDC suggests that parents and adults set positive examples of healthy activity, incorporate physical fitness into a daily routine and make exercise fun with both structured and non-structured activities.
