Students at Agua Caliente Elementary School celebrated their winning performance in the Governor's fitness challenge on Wednesday.  The Cathedral City school received $5,000 from the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports for fitness equipment and a $1,000 gift card for school supplies at CVS Pharmacy.  The school was named a regional winner in the 2009 Governor's Challenge Competition, which encourages students to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, three days a week.

The school also was visited by the “Live Like a Champion Tour,” which includes several sports-themed activities for students. The initiative is a partnership between the governor's fitness council and Anthem Blue Cross.
