The Grand Prize winning school in the 2007 Governor's Challenge Competition was announced September 18th in conjunction with the Council's 2007 Spotlight Award ceremony.

Thanks to support from the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation, the Grand Prize winning school received a brand new physical activity center and the eleven Regional Award winning schools each received a check for $1,000 to purchase physical activity equipment.

Keebler Kids Marathon Mile
BRONZE MEDALIST On January 20, 2007, over 3,000 children ran through Legoland at the annual Keebler Kids Marathon Mile. They represented all ethnic groups and dozens of communities in San Diego County. Kids Fitness Challenge - Rose Bowl
SILVER MEDALIST The Kids Fitness Challenge event was held January 27th, 2007 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The event engaged 10,000 participants from 230 schools and five counties in physical activity.
