SILVER MEDALIST

A division of Rabobank formerly known as Mid-State Bank and Trust was selected as the Silver Medalist for the Council's 2007 Company of the Year award. Mid-State Bank and Trust was selected for its support of youth sport activities and youth health through employee volunteerism and monetary donations. Over 200 employees volunteer their time attending youth games, coaching teams, fundraising for sports organizations or working on boards of sports organizations. Donations provided funds for start-up sports projects, to purchase new uniforms and equipment and to pay for staffing to coordinate physical activity programs.

BRONZE MEDALIST Jay Marden, Principal of Carmel River School, has been selected as a finalist for Principal of the Year in part for organizing the “Run for Matt Run-a-Thon” to help Carmel River students deal with the grief of losing fellow 4th grader Matt Haines who died unexpectedly in March.
