Kids Fitness Challenge - Rose Bowl


SILVER MEDALIST

The Kids Fitness Challenge event was held January 27th, 2007 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The event engaged 10,000 participants from 230 schools and five counties in physical activity.

The Kids Fitness Challenge Rose Bowl event was sponsored by the Fitness Challenge Foundation which is seeking to create a new generation of healthy Americans by addressing one of the nation’s leading public health threats – childhood obesity. The Fitness Challenge Foundation believes that “Small changes can make a BIG difference” The program has been endorsed and supported by NBC/Telemundo, American Diabetes Association, National School Boards Association, and various other groups and individuals.

This Kids Fitness Challenge event combines education, physical activity and follow up programs for local communities to take the fitness challenge to lead a healthier lifestyle and fight the rising tide of child obesity. Schools are eligible to receive grants from the Fitness Challenge Foundation based on participation. These grants help fund physical activity and nutrition programs, after schools programs or other initiatives that promote healthier eating, active lifestyles.
